Quick Subtitles processes everything locally on your device. We collect absolutely no personal data, usage analytics, or transcription content. Your files and transcripts never leave your device unless you explicitly choose to use optional AI features.

How Your Privacy Is Protected

100% Local Processing: Quick Subtitles uses Apple's on-device Speech APIs to transcribe your audio and video files. All transcription happens locally on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Nothing is ever uploaded to our servers.

Local Storage Only: Your files, transcripts, and app settings are stored only on your device. We have no servers to store your data on.

No Network Requirements: Once installed, Quick Subtitles works completely offline. No internet connection is needed for transcription.

No Third-Party Analytics: We don't use crash reporting tools, analytics services, or advertising networks that could collect your data.

Optional AI Features

Quick Subtitles offers optional AI-powered features to help generate show notes, summaries, and titles from your transcripts. These features require you to provide your own Google Gemini API key, and your transcript content is sent directly from your device to Google using your API key.

When you use AI features: Only your transcript content and your API key are sent to Google. We never see, store, or process this data. It goes directly from your device to Google's servers. This communication is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.

Apple Speech Recognition

Quick Subtitles uses Apple's built-in Speech APIs, which process your audio locally on your device. Apple may download speech recognition models to your device as needed, but your audio and transcripts are not sent to Apple's servers. This processing is governed by Apple's privacy policies, not ours.

Data You Control

API Keys: If you choose to use AI features, your API keys are stored securely in your device's keychain and never leave your device.

App Settings: Your preferences are stored locally using standard iOS/macOS user defaults.

Complete Control: You can delete the app at any time to remove all stored data.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy, we'll update this page and the app description in the App Store. Given that we collect zero data, any changes would likely only involve clarifications or additional privacy protections.
